For our recent assignment, I have been researching more blogs on my topic. I found some awesome blogs and one of my favorites is this one: The Ginngerbread Blog. This blog has a variety of fun. It's filled with plenty of arts and crafts, food/desert recipes, and seasonal decor ideas. What I love about this blog is how this blogger wants to create an interactive atmosphere with her followers. Everyone has a chance to submit your very own creation to her so she can post them to share with everyone else. If you're more of a sweat tooth, check out Cooking Classy: Halloween Jack-O'-Totum Craft and a Huge Halloween Roundup. One of the most creative treats I have ever seen. I plan on trying to cook up some of these for this season.

When you aren't cooking sweets, you're cooking meat. Mostly ham. While there are plenty of 'sweetidays' [holiday+sweets] in the year, Halloween capitalizes on them. With as much time spent on the crafts and cooking, the day itself is shortly lived. And if everything isn't already eaten in the same night of the holiday, it may very well be the next morning.
ReplyDeleteYour blog has a great title and theme. I too enjoy the Fall/ Winter season. I grew-up in Northern California. When Fall and Winter arrive, there is an obvious change in the seasons. I really miss that change. My wife and I will eventually move from Las Vegas and one of the main reasons is because we want a location that has Seasonal changes. (No, we are not moving back to California.) Under the title of “Winter Fever” you talk about the “scents infest my house”. I react with the Fall/ Winter season because of the aromas and scents of this time of the year. Cooked roasts, spices, Pine trees, and fires in the fireplace. I feel it is the rituals that families have during this time of the year that helps make it so special.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you RobM154! I would love to move out of Las Vegas where you can see the actual change in seasons! It's one of the best seasons in my opinion and to get the full effect every autumn/fall would be much more of a better experience than here!
